ASHTANGA YOGA CENTER - MOSCOW

English Schedule

Dear English-speaking yogis! Welcome to Ashtanga Yoga Center - Moscow!
We have very few foreign yoga-students in our center, so we don't have particular English yoga classes. But some of our yoga teachers speak English and will give you adjustment and short English explanations during yoga class in Russian. You can see schedule of classes with English-speaking yoga teachers below.
NOTE! All these classes are in Russian language. Teachers can give you short explanations in English and adjustments, but you should have some yoga experience already! (if its Ashtanga vinyasa Led class or Mysore class - you should be familiar with asana sequence of Ashtanga 1st series.)
Before class please tell the teacher that you don't understand Russian. He/She give you more attention.  Note, that ladies on reception don't speak English. But you can ask your teacher or other students for any help in translation.
We have public yoga mats in training halls, but better to have your own one. You can buy good quality yoga mats and bags (made in Germany) in our yoga shop at Mayakovskaya locaton.

Types of classes:

Ashtanga 1st series Led class - practice traditional 1st series under the guidance of teacher. Duration 2 hrs.

Ashtanga Mysore style class - self practice of 1st or more advanced series. Teacher gives adjustments. We will provide you 1st series asana poster if you need. Duration 2 hrs.

Hatha beginners - practice under the guidance of teacher. Surya Namaskar, Basic asanas, sometimes with vinyasa. Duration 1.5 hrs.

Hatha beginners-2 - more intensive than just beginners. Duration 2 hrs.

Hatha intermediate - Sukshma Vyaama (traditional yogic dynamic exercises), Kapalabhati pranayama, Surya Namaskar, Asanas with vinyasas. Duration 2 hrs.

Asana and Pranayama - 1 hour of  Sukshma Vyaama, Surya Namaskar and Asanas + 1 hour of  Pranayamas (Shivananda Tradition).

Novokuznetskaya training hall

 Metro Novokuznetskaya (or Tretyakovskaya), 7 Stary Tolmachevsky pereulok.  Exit to Novokuznetskaya St, then to the right along tram line (direction to Garden ring). Second turn left.  Building number 7 (5-store brick one) is not seen from the street, it joins the inner side of building number 3. Go the middle entrance with a sign "Kультурно-досуговый центр Орбита" (Cultural-leisure centre Orbita)

Mayakovskaya training hall

MetroMayakovskaya(or Barrikadnaya). 30 Zoologicheskaya St. (Apartment building across the street from Filatov Hospital, entrance at the left, downstairs, iron door with the sigh 108).

Aeroport training hall

Metro Aeroport (or Sokol). 6 Liza Chaikina St.   Exit towards MADI and to the right.  7 - 8 minutes from the metro.  Entrance is from the inner yard of the building, black iron door, downstairs with the sign 108.  The entrance is the closest to the inner corner of the building.

Oktyabrskaya (Yakimanka str.) training hall

38А Bolshaya Yakimanka St. (metro Oktyabrskaya
Red brick building aside from the street, in the inner yard.  Entrance is the closest one to the metro.  The door code is:  press 2, 4 and 0 in turn, pull the ring down and at the same time turn the door handle.  1st floor on the right, metal door with the buzz and sign 108.

Petrovka training hall

17 Petrovka St., building 3.  Entrance under the arch, the door on your right. 
Metro:  Pushkinskaya, Chehovskaya, Trubnaya, Kuznetsky Most, Okhotny ryad (10 minutes walk).  At Petrovka street, across Moscow City Duma, go to the arch, then straight between buildings, pass the  barrier.  After the barrier turn left and then right to the arch.  On your left you will see the Attorney office and on your left - our studio with a sign 108 in the window.

Arbat training hall

Hall near Old Arbat street. (Smolenskaya metro station) Sivtsev Vrazhek side street, build. 44/28
Enter to the yard from Sivtsev Vrazhek Side Street through the arch and turn left. Then you'll see a door with sacred number 108 on it. Yoga hall placed in immediate proximity to Smolenskaya metro station, just few steps off Stary Arbat Street, on the right behind the MID skyscraper.

Dmitry Baryshnikov

Certified Hatha Yoga teacher at Ashtanga Yoga Center (Moscow). Dima studied Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in India (Mysore) under the guidance of Shri K.Pattabhi Jois and Sharath Rangaswami. Participated in workshops of Lino Miele (Italy), Petri Räisänen (Finland) and Mark Darby (Canada). Learned pranayama from B.N.S. Iyengar (India, Mysore).

Аlexey Pedanov

Certified Hatha Yoga teacher at Ashtanga Yoga Center (Moscow). Alex has medical degree and completed Teachers Training in Moscow Ashtanga yoga center. Studied under the guidance Dr. Madhavan (Tamil Nadu, India), Andrey Lappa (Kiev), yoga-therapysts Leonid Gartsenstein (Moldova) and Tatyana Mironchuk (Belorussia). Participated in training of Yoga Kids method by Marsha Venig.

Ilya Zhuravlev

Certified Hatha Yoga teacher at Ashtanga Yoga Center (Moscow). Ilya studied yoga in Indian Embassy Moscow under the guidance of Jayakumar Swamishree (Mysore), in India under the guidance of Bal Mukund Singh (Delhi), Shri K. Pattabhi Jois, BNS Iyengar, V.Sheshadri (Mysore), Gopala Krishna (Bangalore), Dr. Madhavan (Tamil Nadu), completed teachers training at Shivananda Ashram (Neyar Dham, Kerala), completed teachers training with Andrey Lappa (Kiev), attended classes in yoga-ashrams of Rishikesh and Pondicherry, participated in training-intensives with Shandor Remete (Australia), Gabriella Jubilaro (Italy), Kali Ray (USA), Andrey Sidersky (Kiev).
